HEARTHSIDE HAVEN
HOUSE FOR GATHERING
Designed as a place to bring people together, this custom modern farmhouse is shaped by familiar ideas of welcome, warmth, and shared experience. Drawing from traditional farmhouse forms and English country manor precedents, the architecture emphasizes clear massing, balanced proportions, and a sense of permanence, paired with contemporary detailing and construction methods.
Fire features appear throughout the house as a unifying element, reinforcing comfort and encouraging gathering across seasons. A barrel-arched opening defines the primary entry sequence, creating a clear moment of arrival, while arched openings throughout support both large gatherings and everyday use. Recreation is fully integrated into the architecture, with an indoor pickleball court designed as a true component of the house and a space for shared, multi-generational activity.
Exterior materials balance tradition and modernity. Sustainable Acre siding provides the texture and character of aged barnboard, paired with wide composite lap siding detailed with mitered edges and no corner boards for a clean, contemporary expression. The result is a modern farmhouse that feels familiar, welcoming, and built for connection.
